How to Become a Donor

Saraswati Bhawan is supported entirely by your donations. Your support enables us to carry out Lama Dawa Rinpoche's projects, such as the Peace Mandala construction, on-going translation of essential texts, audio and video support materials, and the dissemination of tantric teachings as well as personal guidance.

There are a number of ways that you can make donations to Saraswati Bhawan, which are outlined below:

1. Make a one-time cash gift. A cash gift is the most common form of charitable contribution and is deductible according to the extent allowed by law. Cash gifts can be made on-line, using your credit card, bank card, or PayPal; or you can mail a check or money order to our office. Donations of gold and silver coins are also considered a cash gift. 2. Commit to a monthly or annual payment plan. Payment plans helps us to meet our on-going expenses and is a great way to support Saraswati Bhawan. Automatic monthly deductions can be easily and securely set up through PayPal. Annual donations can be mailed directly to our offices. Follow the link to the left to find out more.

3. Sponsor a project or a particular item from our 'wish list.' From time to time we will have specific fund-raisers for a particular need, such as a new computer, a piece of equipment, or small project. You can be the sponsor for a particular project by donating the amount needed, or, you can donate a particular item from the list. 4. Saraswati Bhawan has a brokerage account with TD Ameritrade. You can transfer securities, such as stocks and bonds, from your portfolio directly into Saraswati Bhawan's account. There are specific tax advantages with this kind of donation. For more information, please follow the link on the left.

5. iGive is a unique on-line service that allows you to shop with your favorite on-line stores, and a certain percentage will be deducted from the sales and sent to Saraswati Bhawan. If you are an on-line shopper, this is an easy and convenient way to raise money for Saraswati Bhawan. 6. There are other ways to make contributions for Saraswati Bhawan in addition to the options listed above. For example, gifts of real estate or naming Saraswati Bhawan a beneficiary to your estate. Note: We do not publish the names of our donors. If you use PayPal, you will receive a receipt online. For all gifts greater than $250 in a single calendar year, a receipt is also mailed to you in January of the following year.
