Riverview Dharma Center News
As many of you know, we were very fortunate to lease a house near Lama Dawa Rinpoche and Kunzang’s home in Lansing since December of 2008. The Center became a place for community gatherings such as the Open House celebration we held in June 2009. The local community came to the open house to welcome Lama Dawa Rinpoche and our sangha and to learn about the P’hurba Peace Mandala Project. We have held teachings, healing workshops, Losar celebrations and private retreats at the center. It has been a beneficial situation for Lama Dawa Rinpoche’s students to have a place near by to stay for retreats and visits.
Our landlords have been very supportive of our use of the house, but had wanted to sell the home since they moved to La Crosse several years ago. This winter they found a buyer and the house has been sold. We have moved our belongings into storage and are waiting until the next auspicious situation arises.
This spring Lama Dawa Rinoche and Kunzang will be traveling for teachings and we are very busy with plans for development of the P’hurba Peace Mandala Project, so this is a good time for the center to be dormant. This has also resulted in lowering our monthly expenses, which allows us to focus more on our fundraising development and the direct expenses of the Peace Mandala Project.
We are very grateful to our landlords for providing us such a wonderful home for the center and for all of you who have contributed through your time, hard work and donations to make the center a welcoming place for all who visited.
Stay tuned for future announcements regarding the opening of a new home for the RiverView Dharma Center.
